On May 27, 2019, teachers Todorka Nane and Nadica Nane together with fifth grade students carried out the daily activity “Green salad” as part of the topic “Vegetable garden” from the Eco Section of the Annual Program for extracurricular intercultural activities.

During this activity, the students had the opportunity to learn more about the green salad – lettuce, what kind of plant it is, what it contains, how it affects the organism and what its significance for human health is. The students made comparisons with several types of vegetables and made a salad out of them.

The aims of this activity are: to get acquainted with the role and importance of green salad as part of a healthy diet, as a prerequisite for proper growth and development, to encourage curiosity among students for awareness and research, encourage cooperation between students and teachers from both groups, encourage and support a positive socio-emotional climate in the group as well as to enrich the active vocabulary of students with new concepts in both languages.
